Borderlands Movie Bombs: 0% on Rotten Tomatoes

Cinema: Borderlands movie bombs on rotten tomatoes. Zero percent rating. Critics slam the video game adaptation. Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, and Jamie Lee Curtis star in the critically anticipated film. Fans are disappointed. So, box office expectations are low. Is this the worst video game movie ever?

This is just crazy; mind you, this movie has a budget of over $100 million. Talented voice actors are being replaced by famous actors who don’t deliver. However, 0%, like a perfect 10, is a score I just do not trust.

Borderlands movie bombs on Rotten Tomatoes. Zero percent rating. Critics slam the video game adaptation.

Only 10 reviews have been posted so far, and none of the 10 reviewers liked it. There is no conspiracy here. The score likely will rise when more reviews come in. But the final score will remain low.

Regardless of context, scoring a straight 0 ten times by different critics is a pretty good indicator of poor quality. The audience score will probably not be too different considering people really have not liked the look of this movie since day 1. It’s really that simple. And it will change over the next few days. Still not a good start.

How could this have missed? People trying to make something they know wouldn’t see the light of day unless they attached it to something with an audience already baked in. Just so happens that the gaming audience cares a lot about their games; who would’ve guessed?

Video Game to Movie Disaster: Borderlands (2024) Tanks

To be quite honest, I’m not at all surprised. I realize that 0% is exceptionally low, but this seemed especially bad. A good game ruined by a movie. I hope people will play the game and love it the same I did. Looking at the Tomatoes scores, Borderlands doesn’t look good as the start of a Cinematic Universe.
