X-Men 97 Gears Up for Season 2 with New Writer

Entertainment: X-Men 97 fans rejoice! Season 2 is on the way and is currently in post-production. I can’t wait. I was blown away by season 1. Bringing back the show was the best thing Kevin Feige had done for Marvel.

That’s exciting that X-Men 97 is moving forward with a second season! I’m sure fans are eager to see what new adventures the mutants have next.

But! There’s a twist, though. Marvel Studios will bring in a new head writer for the season.

The news comes from Marvel Studios’ head of streaming, television, and animation, Brad Winderbaum. Though there’s a new writer in the writer’s room, DeMayo’s vision remains firmly rooted in Season 2.

“We will have a new head writer for season 2,” Winderbaum said. “We are honoring Beau’s ideas for the second season.”

This news follows DeMayo’s departure from the project earlier this year. The reasons behind his exit haven’t been officially disclosed.

Author’s Note: It’s OK. We can support the show with or without Beau. His contributions won’t be erased. X-Men 97 is a masterclass in storytelling and animation. So long as they follow the blueprint, they’ll be fine.

One person does not make a show. The rest of the brilliant and absolutely wonderfully talented X-Men 97 team/crew can absolutely carry the torch into the show’s future. I have full faith.

However, he was the one behind episode 5’s main idea (the most praised one this season), and this series wasn’t only well-written but a reflection of Beau’s experiences and ideals. I doubt that another SR could successfully portray his own ideas now that the series has begun.

I wonder who’s going to replace Beau. Winderbaum said that Beau and the team parted on good terms apparently so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s someone Beau handpicked himself.

The X-Men have so many brilliant and incredible stories that don’t necessarily have to subscribe to his life experiences. ABSOLUTELY honor his work for season 2 and wrap up his vision that he set forth with that. This show can grow without him.
