X-Men 97: Is There Hope for Reason After Magneto's Warpath?

Magneto’s Fury: A Recipe for Disaster in X-Men 97

Marvel/TV Series: The latest season of X-Men 97 has taken a dark turn. Magneto, the mutant master of magnetism, unleashed an electromagnetic pulse attack. Magneto’s motives and the future of mutantkind are seriously questionable after this devastating act.

The X-Men face a tough choice. Stop Magneto or a new villain, Bastion, build anti-mutant robots. Professor X is back too, but things are complicated. Can the X-Men unite and stop Magneto before the mutants pay the price?

Gonna say it, X-Men 97 is the best thing Marvel has done in decades, including the MCU. TRULY exceptional series. This is what we’ve wanted for so long. Top writing, story, direction, cinematography, characters, and their arcs. Masterpiece.

Magneto says he’s fighting to save mutants, but the consequences are dire. The EMP wave disrupts technology on a massive scale. Hospitals relying on life-saving equipment are left scrambling. Transport systems grind to a halt. Food distribution networks collapse, threatening widespread hunger.

This isn’t just a human problem. An EMP could have harmed weaker mutants who rely on technology for medical care. Magneto’s supposed solution to mutant persecution risks harming the very people he seeks to protect.

The fallout doesn’t stop there. Anti-mutant sentiment is likely to explode in response to this attack. Fear and anger will fuel violence and discrimination against all mutants, regardless of their actions. Magneto‘s aggression has the potential to create the very situation he fears most: a war between humans and mutants.

The episode, “Tolerance is Extinction – Part 3,” promises to explore the depths of this crisis. Can the X-Men find a way to reason with Magneto, or will this lead to a brutal confrontation? How will the human population react to a world crippled by EMP?

Mutants vs Mutants

It’s easy to blame this all on Charles but a lot of people on both sides cooked this whole mess up. One character you don’t want to become evil is Professor X. His level of telepathy is beyond other characters and more dangerous than many realize. Not even Magneto could stop him.

Years ago, I read about an alternate version of Xavier shutting down a city’s minds without brains in seconds. He is virtually Omega level without ethics or conscience. Who knows, maybe we’ll get Onslaught in the next season of X-Men!

There’s also the possibility of a bigger villain lurking in the shadows. Could someone be manipulating Magneto to achieve their own goals, further dividing mutants and humans?

X-Men 97 has thrown a wrench into the delicate balance between humans and mutants. With Magneto’s actions sparking chaos, the X-Men face their most challenging mission yet. Both mutants and humans are at risk.

Updates:

The “Jubilee” episode was for those who didn’t watch the original. It plot dumps all the info you need for this series, including Genosha and Asteroid M. Now all we need is Jubes doing something cool that her future self taught her. I wanna see her destroy the disk again.

If you are wondering the ending scene is ripped straight from the comics from a story called fatal attraction where Magneto pulls the Adamantium from Logan‘s body.
