Khardung La Pass: A Must-Visit for Adventure Seekers
Motorbiking the Khardung-La mountain pass in the Indian Himalayas was definitely the craziest motorbike trip of my entire life. We got into a terrible snowstorm at the top of the pass. The mountain passes are so incredible and you’re absolutely right! Even though there were really huge downsides, it was a hell of an amazing trip.
It is said that when we die, the whole of life flashes in front of our eyes. These beautiful and adventurous memories will last a lifetime.
Khardung La Pass isn’t just a place to visit. It’s your entrance to Ladakh’s hidden gems! Cross the pass and discover the Nubra Valley. This valley boasts sand dunes and a one-of-a-kind Buddhist culture. Explore the Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield on Earth.
Note: Four years ago I was hanging out in Manali waiting for the pass to open so I could do the bus journey to Leh. But the pass wasn’t opening up. This was in April so there was still a lot of snow. Finally someone told me about the pass over the mountains from Kashmir, which was a shorter pass and would open earlier.
So I went by bus over there, but that pass still wasn’t open. I had to wait in Kashmir for a week and finally the pass was open and I got over it and made it to Leh. Even after staying 10 days in Leh the pass to Manali still hadn’t opened up, so I ended up taking a flight back to Delhi. It was still an awesome adventure though.
The Enchanting Journey
There are actually many Indians who didn’t visit the Himalayas that much, but luckily my family were addicted to the Himalayas so we had been going on these adventurous trips for like ten years and it’s always a MASSIVE adventure that never fails to disappoint.
I can 99% say that the Himalayas are the most breathtaking places in the entire world… everything is so unique and every trip will be carved in your memory forever! I can’t express the mind-boggling time I had on these trips for the whole decade. You will definitely have the most unique experience ever because it is the highest place on Earth! Weather is unpredictable so you gotta be prepared extremely well.
