Elle Fanning Takes on the Predator in Badlands

Cinema: Dan Trachtenberg’s ‘BADLANDS’ has officially begun filming. It is a highly anticipated Predator sequel set in the future. With Elle Fanning starring, this is sure to be an action-packed adventure.

The Predator movies are some of my favorite movies of all time. This is awesome news! I loved Prey so much and am really looking forward to seeing what Dan has up his sleeve for the franchise next.

I really like the idea of Elle Fanning playing in a Predator movie. I’m all in. As long as Dan Trachtenberg is behind the wheel, I’m sure it’ll be excellent.

Actress Elle Fanning would be an incredible choice. It is true that the alien saga is the one that is most characterized by having female protagonists compared to predators, but if the writing is good, changes can be made.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a movie set in the future where predators have become a constant threat. It would be cool if The Predator was female this time out. It would be such an interesting take on the franchise. Darkhorse Comics did it years ago, when they had the licensing.

Predator always worked best as an anthology series. Different characters in different periods of time and in different situations facing a predator. There is almost unlimited potential to that concept.

The secret sauce to a great sequel is only two things: give us something we haven’t seen, and don’t ruin or take anything away from what we love about the first. “Aliens” and Terminator 2″ are the best sequels.

Someone once posted on Twitter that they’d like to see a Prey movie set in feudal Japan. Hiroyuki Sanada is a Samurai warrior who became a Ronin because the predator killed his lord. Now he’s out for revenge. There’s nothing cooler than ninjas, so how about Sanada be a ninja master who has to use all his ninjitsu skills to hunt and kill the predator after it wipes out his entire ninja clan?

According to some reports, we are still getting a Prey 2; it’s just in early development. Whereas Badlands is further along! Was personally hoping for another period piece, but still very excited nonetheless. Prey was excellent. Hopefully this one will go to theaters.
