New Champ: “Inside Out 2” Topples “The Lion King”

Box Office Records – New Champ: “Inside Out 2” Topples “The Lion King”.

Cinema: ‘Inside Out 2’ movie has officially surpassed ‘The Lion King’ remake (photorealistically animated)at the worldwide box office. It seems like every new major Disney release becomes its “highest grossing movie ever.” I can only imagine that this is due to inflation and ticket prices becoming more expensive. That and also people renting on VOD for $20.

I wonder if part of its overwhelming success could be due to there not really being any other kids movies out during the summer. So, if parents were wanting to take their kids to the cinema, it was probably the most appealing choice.

It’s a PG movie. It’s perfect for making money since parents don’t have to worry about it being age-inappropriate like Deadpool & Wolverine. It probably plays great with international audiences too.

I was expecting this success with Inside Out 2 specifically. Considering how loved the first one was, it makes sense that the sequel would be as successful as it is. It’s much like The Incredibles and Incredibles 2. Inside out is really special. I think it’s so unique and its own genre; the second making a billion is well deserved.

"Inside Out 2" has shattered box office records, surpassing "The Lion King" as the highest-grossing animated film ever.

This animated movie was released right when schools were ending. It came after a several-month drought of decent kids movies, didn’t compete with anything for a few weeks, was an anticipated sequel to a film people liked, and was a good movie. It had everything going for it.

While I agree that it is not as exceptional as the first film, it’s still a good movie. I still see people on my feed doing fan art, talking about it, and rejoicing that it has made more money than you know what. Inside Out 2 is a sequel with a very relatable story and beautiful, high-quality animation, as expected, and it wasn’t a one-to-one remake.

I think the concept of the Inside Out franchise is inherently universal and relatable while still having a personal touch. The concept appeals to adults while still being colorful and humorous enough to engage kids. I’m not surprised it did this well.
