Animation/TV Series: The Fairly OddParents Get a Grown-Up Sequel This Spring! Never thought this would get a sequel but here we are.

The beloved Fairly OddParents are back with a brand new sequel. But this time, things are different.

The series follows Wanda & Cosmo coming out of retirement to grant wishes for Hazel, a 10-year-old girl who has just moved to Dimmadelphia. However, I feel like all shows are trying to appeal to the next generation. They recreated Rugrats, made Kamp Koral a SpongeBob spinoff and now this? Nothing original anymore.

I grew up on the show, and I’m glad that they are recreating it for a new generation. I guess I’m just saying I kind of wish there were some original ideas out there like these shows once were. That’s all.

Not gonna lie I wish they used new fairies. It would have brought way better story potential to give completely new fairies than just using Cosmo and Wanda again.

We’ve known about this thing for a while. It’s only now that it has been officially announced. I can’t show anything from the leaks for obvious reasons, but I can tell you that the animation spices things up. It’s like this weird 2D, CGI hybrid; it’s a change, but change isn’t always bad. Look on the bright side. It’s going to feel a whole lot better visually than the dumpster fire of season 10. It takes talent to look this horrible, and, of course, let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

Timmy Turner is grown up, but he’ll probably make a few cameos here and there to establish that this is the same canon as the original series. Then again, where’s Poof Sparky Chloe? Nobody is going to complain about these characters missing, but even so, what’s the timeline supposed to be here? Maybe I’m in the wrong, because I’m asking questions about a cartoon that never made sense anyway.

The Fairly OddParents: Wishes Take Flight Again!

So exciting news! It will be interesting to see how the new generation of kids connect with the beloved characters in this sequel series. I’m giving this show a chance. These new show runners seem like they actually know what they’re doing.

Oh well, The Fairly OddParents. We should wait before judging. It could be a surprisingly fresh take on the classic formula or just retreading old steps for the sake of nostalgia. Either way, we’ll find out in the spring.
