How Arnim Zola Hinted at Howard Stark’s Death?
About: How Arnim Zola Hinted at Howard Stark‘s Death in MCU? This is connected to the Captain America: Civil War movie (2016).
Arnim Zola was part of the crew that gave Bucky his metal arm; he could have made himself an entire robot body on an extension cord. Well, it’s one thing to build an arm, another entirely to build a brain small enough in the 80s to house inside a human-sized robotic body. Compare the size of most basic feature cellphones now to the brick-sized portable phones of the 80s.
Tony Stark learns that Steve Rogers knew that Bucky Barnes had killed his parents and kept it from him along with the Avengers. We can see how stressed and betrayed Tony feels after so much has happened to him in this film. Both are fighting without hesitation in a fight that’s hard to watch. Despite knowing and empathizing with both men’s choices, the audience knows there’ll be no winner in this fight.
How Arnim Zola Hinted at Howard Stark’s Death?
In the Winter Soldier movie (2014), Arnim Zola implied that Hydra/Shield assassinated Howard Stark. He said, “Accidents will happen,” and at the same time a picture of Howard Stark came up on the screen. It was a blink and you’ll miss it moment, but that’s why Steve said that he didn’t know it was Bucky, but he knew they were murdered by Hydra.
Steve Rogers knew Hydra had killed Tony Stark’s parents. The Winter Soldier had been Hydra’s most active assassin for the past 50 years (I think). Bucky Barnes, of course, being his friend, it’s understandable he wouldn’t be keen on putting the two together without solid evidence, hence: “I didn’t know it was him.”
I love Tony’s attempts at the end. Saying the shield didn’t belong to Captain America, nor he deserved it. Cap just tried to ignore him. But it was “my father made that shield” that got Cap. He really respected Howard. The symbolism of Cap’s shield in that moment. It is a perfect representation of their friendship. Tony’s father who made it and his friend who used it. It was perfect. And visually, the shield is perfect except in that shot. The claw marks represent this fight that tarnished their friendship.
One of the best scenes from when the MCU was at its peak. A well-crafted, well-acted, well choreographed right with real plot and emotional stakes.
Events in Captain America: Civil War (2016) –
Most people don’t get that connection and think Steve Rogers was lying to Tony Stark or that Steve specifically knew Bucky was the assassin. But Steve Rogers suspected that it was Bucky. He just didn’t know for certain. Also, this secret (and Steve’s admission of it) in my mind is a huge factor in the way two scenes played out. One small scene in Age of Ultron and the other in a future film that I don’t want to go into because of spoilers, but if you’ve seen all of the MCU films then I think you know what I’m talking about.
Bucky was experimented on by Hydra and turned into a super soldier. He has longevity and all the superhuman powers of a super soldier like Captain America. His metal arm is just a fancy prosthetic to replace the one lost in his fall from the train.
T’Challa wears the vibranium Black Panther suit primarily for protection. But his strength, speed, and agility don’t come from gear. He’s physically equal to super-soldiers like Captain America and Bucky without the suit. This movie is one of the best movies ever.
Steve and Tony have their reasons for which side they chose. They are both valid reasons that are completely understandable based on their perspectives. I love how Black Widow lets Cap get away in the end.
