Netflix has confirmed that Alice in Borderland will return for a third season. So ,the story of Arisu and Usagi continues on Netflix. Note that season two’s finale really tied the whole thing. Alice in Borderland season 3, like season 2, will have a return behind the camera by Shinsuke Sato.

The renewal for season three was announced in September 2023. But so far, little information is available about what the future of this series holds. Kento Yamazaki is set to return as Ryohei Arisu, and Tao Tsuchiya will play Usagi. The story of season 3 might be packed with a new Joker card game villain.

Alice in Borderland Season 2 resulted in a finale where all the main characters woke up to find themselves in reality—a final truth bomb that would have ended the series right then and there. After all, Arisu and Usagi’s journey on Netflix isn’t coming to an end without Alice in Borderland season 3.

The ending of Alice in Borderland season 2 was also very faithful to the manga, as it ends there too, with Arisu and the rest waking up in the real world after spending exactly one minute with their hearts stopped. The ending was perfect. Great series with smart writing and an amazing cast.

Alice in Borderland season 3 will take off in its very own direction now that it has exhausted source material, but confirmed the show will be returning for another chapter on Netflix.

Season 2 ended a little differently from the manga, but it teased a new villain for season 3. Throughout the Alice in Borderland battle royale games, there was never a Joker card game.

In the manga, the Joker is the Ferryman. He is the character tasked with leading Arisu and the others back to the real world. But Netflix ended Alice in Borderland season 2 with a macabre shot of a Joker card in the real world. So, Alice in Borderland season 3 may use an all-new storyline about the Joker card game.

Instead of a season 3, they should do a spin-off series now having Banda and the other guys that opted to stay as citizens of Borderland as the new protagonists of the story. This way they can explore the lore of the games and the Joker without affecting the initial story. I understand this is not in the source material, but it would be fun to see how they do it.

We have not seen the back story of Queen of Spades, and she said she does not want hypocrites. They can give her a compelling backstory. Also, we have not seen the King of Hearts. It would be great if we saw him. There is still no release date for Alice in Borderland Season 3 from the official side. In the meantime, any update from Netflix or from the production will be available on our blog.
